I have been very blessed in my life. 

Since 1980, I have been married to a very kind and always interesting man. We have five children (2 sets of twins, but that's another story) and seven beautiful grands. 

I started out as attorney, but when I stayed home to have and raise babies, I felt called to do the thing that I loved to do as a kid: write stories. It started when stories came to my head at 3 in the morning and they would not let me go back to sleep. So I would get up and unload them, knowing that if I did not, the words would rattle around in my brain and drive me crazy. This is how all of the writing has come to me, and this has proven two things to me. First, God has a specific plan for each of us and just when we think we have everything planned out the way we want, He reminds us what we are truly meant to do and be. Second, I am only a scribe. I don't know where the ideas come from, but I certainly cannot take credit for them, except for the mere action of writing them on the page. 

There is the flavor of my Irish heritage and my family upbringing throughout all of these books. I earned a Masters in Literature from Trinity College, Dublin, and try to return to Ireland each year. It is truly my "anamcara"--- my soul friend. There is also, I hope, the spirit of the "faith of my fathers," Catholicism, throughout. I love my Church, especially the Traditional Latin Mass, and owe Her more than I can ever say.
